Savannah CASA Advocacy Coordinator
Advocacy Coordinator Job Summary
The Advocacy Coordinator provides staff support to CASA volunteers to ensure that children involved with the CASA program receive sound advocacy and early permanency planning.
Qualifications
· Minimum Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, or commensurate work experience. Candidates should have a history of demonstrating strong skills in the position's key responsibilities.
· The ability to communicate with, supervise, and empower volunteers to be effective in their roles. Experience with volunteers given preference.
· The ability to work cooperatively with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
· Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within families in crisis relating to abuse and neglect.
· Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and data management software.

Responsibilities
· Assist in the recruitment and training of new volunteers.
· Review new cases and assign appropriate volunteers in consultation with the Program Director.
· Attend court hearings with the volunteers.
· Assist volunteers and the office in the completion of necessary records and statistics.
· Maintain documentation in the client management system.
· Provide assistance, consultation, and supervision to assigned volunteers.
· Participate in volunteer evaluation.
· Assist with the monthly newsletter as needed.
· Assist with volunteer appreciation.
· Assist with events and fundraising efforts as directed by the Executive Director.
· Complete all other duties as may be assigned by the Advocacy Director.

An employee must meet the physical demands described here to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
· Much of the work in this position is completed while sitting at a desk and using a computer and phone. It requires talking, hearing, and visual acuity to perform these primary functions.
· Includes traveling to various locations and facilities throughout the county and navigating mobility within various environments. Must have a driver’s license.
· Occasionally, it includes reaching above shoulder height or below the waist or lifting to 25 pounds for office equipment, supplies, and materials.
Salary & Benefits
This full-time position includes a wellness stipend, IRA match, vision, dental, life, and disability insurance, and generous paid time off. Annual full-time salary range: $40,000 to $44,000, contingent upon experience and education.
