We are rolling out the red carpet for our Stars this year! Our 2022 Brightside Awards are polished and ready to be delivered to outstanding CASA volunteers and stakeholders. We are excited to share this year's impressive accomplishments over a delicious breakfast with all of our stakeholders.
This year's keynote speaker, Chris Hempfling, will share how we can take our advocacy to the next level - by advocating for a better child welfare system in Georgia.
This event is free for CASA volunteers, Elected Officials, DFCS employees, and Juvenile Court employees. RSVP is required. The cost for all others is $10. Sponsorships are available.

ABOUT CHRIS: Chris Hempfling is the Principal of CGH Consulting, LLC, where he partners with public and private organizations to strengthen the nation's human services sector. Chris previously served Georgia as the Senior Deputy Commissioner and Deputy Chief of Staff for the Department of Human Services. In this role, Chris provided guidance and supervision for the state's child welfare services, office of family independence, aging services, and legal services. Previously, Chris served as the Deputy Director and General Counsel for the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services and as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the Georgia Department of Human Services, representing the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services and the Division of Adult Protective Services.
Chris received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The Ohio State University, a Master of Business Administration from Otterbein University, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton. He is a Child Welfare Law Specialist, a member of the National Association of Council for Children, and an executive committee member of the Child Protection and Advocacy section of the State Bar of Georgia. Chris, his wife Michele, and their pets live in Rockdale County.
